We have an overwhelming amount of information right at our fingertips. Still, how do we go about choosing a Physical Therapy Clinic that's perfect for ourselves or a loved one? Most of the time, your PCP or Orthopedic will direct you to a clinic they like. More often than not, the medical assistant will hand you a sheet of with names of local PT clinics. "Choose one close to you" or "Choose one that's convenient" and out the door you go.

Is that really the best way to choose someone to help you recover from an injury? Aren't you worth a little more than just finding a "convenient" PT clinic? Well then, how does one choose the right clinic? Let us help. First, look at the clinic's Google rating. Is it high? Besides the number of stars, what are the patients writing? What are their experiences at the clinic? If they are writing "aggressive, fast pace sessions" then maybe it's not the right fit for grandmother recovering from hip surgery. "My therapist was treating 5 of us at once", you know you won't be getting the individual attention you deserve. 5 Star ratings are great. Reading about the patients' experience, though, will help give you a better idea on the clinics atmosphere.

If you can, go and see the clinic and get a feel for the place. Maybe you can get a couple of minutes to talk to a Staff PT employee. Is the clinic clean? Do they have a lot of exercise equipment? Does the PT staff look like they are engaging with the patients or hiding behind a laptop? What's the vibe when you walk in?

All of these things may seem tiny as you read them, but can have a huge effect on your treatment and recovery. With the cost of Health Care soaring and Co-Pays nearly doubling, you want to make sure you are getting the best care possible!

Hope this helps!!
